Babson Survival Guide Part 11: Academic Services and Class Deans
Here is an office that could prove helpful all four years at Babson. These offices, located in Hollister, will help plan out your schedule, check your degree requirements, and anything else along those lines.
Each class gets a dean, and you'll have the same dean from freshmen to senior year. It would be beneficial for you to stop in the class deans office and meet your dean at the beginning of freshmen year before their office gets flooded with help requests. It can't hurt to have a good relationship with your dean, and they may be inclined to give you preferential service if they actually know you.
Remember - it's all about networking. Even on the first day at Babson, it's time to network. It's not really time to make friends. Think of Babson like entering the workplace at 18. Or like the TV show Survivor. You'll have coworkers and alliances more than true friends. Whatever you do, don't treat it like a normal college experience. You'll only be disappointed.
It's also worth noting that a lot of students think these offices could stand be a lot more helpful than they are.
