Cumulative Babson Experience (CBE) Online Class
If you are just coming into Babson as a freshman, you might not know that your standard set of integrated classes is not the same as the one from last year. There have been many variations over the years, from IMC and IME to FME and FYE. It basically changes every three years. The name changes and maybe the material changes (which is a good thing, because IME sucked!) but the core lessons remain the same.
That's because the main lessons come from dealing with the bullshit. The textbooks don't have a thing to do with it. (The professors usually don't like the books anyway, so they teach the class their own way. They have to list a book on the syllabus though.)
This class, the CBE, will give you the entire Babson experience in one easy-to-digest article. Not only that, it will be the real experience, from student perspectives. (This is certainly not some speech from admissions!)
So save yourself the $42k per year by following along with us!
CBE 1: Teamwork is a pain in the ass!
All that stuff about learning to work well with others and doing group projects is just for the marketing. You don't actually learn "how" to work in groups. Babson just throws you into groups from the beginning and you learn to suffer through it. That way, when you're working on a team in a corporation, you're not surprised by how bad it is.
CBE 2: Management is bullshit!
That is actually a direct quote from one of my professors. And it's actually right on the money. See, when you're faced with a tough decision, just make something up. The goal is not to be right but to make people think you are right. As long as you can make up some reasons why it's a good idea, you're set.
CBE 3: Organizational Behavior (OB) is common sense!
Common sense may be pushing it, but OB covers the same topics I learned in kindergarten.
CBE 4: We need another lesson!
CBE 5: We need another lesson!
